American Indian Art

American Indian art generally refers to those items of the people and cultures that inhabited North America prior to the arrival of Western European explorers. ¬†Generally you will find geographical attributions such as Woodlands (Eastern), Plains (Central), the pre-Puebloan (Anasazi, Mogollon, and Casa Grande), Pueblo, and Athabascan peoples (Southwest), and ¬†Eskimos (Northwest Coast and Artic). ¬†Blankets and rugs, pottery, baskets, jewelry, carved wooden and stone objects are but a few of the many categories of objects that are wonderful decorative accessories and masterpieces collected today by the world’s leading institutions and collectors.
