Pre-Columbian Art

Pre-Columbian art is  generally considered synonymous with pre-1492, pre-Columbus, pre-discovery of America, all generally acknowledged definitions.  Regarding the utilitarian and ceremonial objects of the indigenous cultures of the Americas, pre-contact is realistically the best terminology to understand how the pure nature of indigenous civilization and society changed immediately and forever the day Western European explorers discovered their villages, their families, and their objects.
